How our echo fascination started:
27 September 2012, Chihuahua City, North Mexico. Just finished two Zwerm concerts. On the last day of our stay we rent a Chrysler and drive into the dessert, heading for the US border. The vast plains evoke a strange displaced feeling. We follow a trail of thumble weeds and make a stop at the Canyon del Pegüis, a breathtaking gulch that splits the barren land. Deep down the sunlight reflects on the surface of the Conchos. Not a living soul around. We are alone and in silence. Clap. The silence is broken by the sound of our clapping hands. It seems the walls of the canyon are being awoken out of a deep sleep. This echo contains traces of drum 'n bass, new complexity, dubstep & tribal, bouncing off the walls and refracting in multiple directions for almost thirty seconds. Comments are closed.
