Nevertheless you will here more notes then in Philip Glass' Music In Similar Motion, which takes more then 400 times as long. Not only sound but also time is an important and useful musical element. Timestretch focuses on time perception and experience by means of sound. The program is dedicated to composers who are able to bend temporal experience into almost sensual qualities. Compression and stretch; synchronization and disintegration, freeze and flow, all these are potential musical qualities hidden in what we conveniently call ‘linear time’.
